Traditional sautéed reindeer

Ingredients

  • 400g sautéed reindeer meat
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 dl water
  • salt and black pepper
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • 1 kg potatoes, floury type
  • 1.5 dl milk
  • 2 tbsp room temperature butter
  • salt, black pepper, and dried thyme
  • Pea Side Dish
  • 250 g green peas
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and black pepper

Instructions

1. Peel the onions and slice thinly.

2. Place the semi-thawed sautéed reindeer on a pan at low heat. Thaw the meat completely,
separate it with a fork and let the liquid evaporate. Increase the heat and add 3 tablespoons of butter. Brown the meat and
onions well and add water. Let it boil for a few minutes.

3. Season with salt and pepper.

Mashed Potatoes

1. Peel and boil the potatoes. Drain the water and let the potatoes steam.

2. Mash the potatoes. Heat the milk and mix it along with room temperature butter into the mashed
potatoes.

3. Season with salt.

Pea Side Dish

1. Boil water and add frozen peas. Bring to a boil, remove from the heat and drain the water.

2. Mix the peas until the consistency is as desired. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper.

3. Serve the sautéed reindeer with mashed potatoes, pea side dish and lingonberry jam. Enjoy!
