History
Our story
Lapin Liha is a small meat producer from Rovaniemi, founded in 1989, whose goal has always been to produce the world’s best reindeer and game products. As steadfast visionaries, we have wanted to inspire people to create new ways to utilize very traditional ingredients, and we have succeeded in that. We have excellent, modern production facilities, although the journey to becoming a smaller, specialized meat producer has not been easy in today’s turbulent world and under great pressure. It can be said that the discipline of the food industry has touched us hard. We may not have had the muscles for big, flashy campaigns, but we have still sought to make our voices heard.
We strongly believe that reindeer and game meat still belong on our tables. They have been hunted long before the era of massive current animal production. These traditional ingredients also represent a responsible and healthy way to nourish ourselves, and that cannot be emphasized enough. At the same time, we support the northern way of life and industry by bringing reindeer meat to our plates. The amount of meat in the diet should also be reduced for health reasons, and it is entirely reasonable that when you eat quality, less is needed. Reindeer and game meat are pure food, a natural source of protein. People have the right to eat healthily and sustainably and still well. That’s what we fight for!
With persistent efforts, we have succeeded; thirty years have already been achieved, and we continue on this path, perhaps correcting the course, but always moving forward! We continue to produce and offer our customers both traditional and new products, reaching more and more people who appreciate good and high-quality food. Reindeer meat is just meat like any other meat; there is no need to worry about its cooking. Everyone learns, and we help! With our help, people can eat delicious but also healthier and more responsible meat – perhaps less frequently or in smaller quantities at a time, but the end result is better well-being and a clear conscience!
